What Is Your Personal Brand?
Are you an Adidas or a Nike person? And why do you like those brands? We all choose products for emotional reasons – something draws us to them. Me, I am a Patagonia loyalist; I like their products, their business practices and the fact that they give away 1% of their profits to help the planet.

Like Adidas and Nike, you have your own personal brand. Individuals make impressions about you usually in the first 30 seconds. As they get to know you, your personal brand gets solidified. What is your personal brand? What impression do you make?

Why your personal brand is important
Who you are; what you do; and how you do it is all connected to your personal brand. Others can sense some type of conflict or lack of self-confidence when who you are does not match what you do and how you do it. Consistency is the key and I believe that when you consciously "create" your personal brand, then you are able to create the type of life you want to lead. It is all connected. So I challenge you to explore your personal brand. We are all unique with special gifts, but sometimes we need to remind ourselves.

The WHO: Personal Brand Self-Image
·  If I asked the question, who are you? What would you say?
· How do you describe yourself? Do you define yourself in terms of what you do or who you are?
· Would others describe you in the same way? Test it out – ask 10 people: "Who do you think I am?" It's fun to ask people you have just met and others that know you a long time.

The WHAT: Your Unique Brand
· What do you do that no one else does? What sets you apart?
· What is your niche? Your magic?
· What do you see, hear or know what that no one else does?
· How does what you do honor who you are?

The HOW: Consistency/Rebranding
· What do you want your personal brand to be?
· What actions could you take everyday to honor your personal brand?
· How will you know that you are projecting your personal brand?
· Are you consistent?

I work on my personal brand everyday, looking for ways to match who I am with what I do. Last week, instead of driving my son to school, we both put on our bike helmets and peddled to his Montessori school. Can you guess what my personal brand is? What is yours?
